Learn about the man behind the name.
Where did it begin, really?
Was it my first marketing internship in college, working as a copywriter for an ad agency? Or later — after a soul-numbing stint doing number crunching and regulations wrangling — when I returned to creative work as a copywriter / graphic designer?
Maybe.
But looking back now, I realize that all my life I’ve been using my creative gifts to tell stories, pitch ideas, or present arguments. When I was a child, it was with a 35mm film camera, hand-drawn art, and typewritten text. Thankfully, it’s a lot easier now with the amazing technology in modern mirrorless cameras, Adobe Creative Cloud software, and powerful, intuitive website platforms.
But an abundance of whiz bang tools, does not make someone a photographer or marketer or web designer.
It takes experience, a creative eye and good judgment to know how to use the tools to craft an effective marketing piece, be it a corporate headshot, commercial photo or a complete website redesign.
And I haven’t found a tool yet that can write truly good, original copy. Sorry, Chat GPT just isn’t quite there. Yet.
During my nearly 30 years doing about every type of marketing (branding, collateral, direct marketing, videos, Email, social media, etc.) full-time for businesses and non-profits, I’ve always had a side gig helping people who came to me needing a website, logo, or commercial photography.
Now that my wife and I are nearly empty nesters, I have more free time so I’m ramping up my side business. dan weerts creative is not my full-time job. But it is my natural bent and gets an outsized portion of my mental energy.
If you are a small business or non-profit who wants someone with both creativity and practical business sense, I can help.
Soli Deo Gloria
Whether you need commercial, architectural, event, or headshot photos, I'm your guy. Just don't ask me to shoot family portraits or senior pictures :-)

Engage the heart and mind with a compelling video message that aligns with your organization's values and goals.
If your organization has never gone through a professional branding exercise, you should. A logo is just part of it.
